Bolts sweep Rascals07/25/2009 9:03 PM
Ross Stout pitched a complete game and Nate Hall had three hits as the Windy City ThunderBolts completed a three game sweep of the River City Rascals, winning 6-2 on Saturday night.
River City put up a run in the top of second inning on an RBI single by Joe Billick. Windy City responded in the bottom half of the inning with a runner on first and two out, Wilson Matos smacked a his fifth homer of the season to left for a 2-1 Bolts lead.
The ThunderBolts would tag Rascals starter Chris Ingoglia for three runs in the third inning, propelled by RBI doubles off the bats of J. T. Restko and Bryan Cook. For Restko, the double gave him an 18-game hitting streak and a six game RBI streak.
Windy City would tack on another run in the fifth on an RBI single from Nate Hall. That was all Ross Stout (7-2) would need as the ThunderBolts starter went the distance allowing two runs, striking out nine. Chris Ingoglia (5-6) took the loss for River City allowing five runs in three innings.
The Bolts continue their homestand on Sunday night as Evansville makes their first visit of the season. Tyler Kelsey (4-4, 4.42) will start for Windy City against Kyle Dahman (0-0, 10.29) for the Otters. It is a Standard Bank Sunday with 2-for-1 coupons available at selected Standard Bank locations.
