CRESTWOOD, IL - The ThunderBolts had a 4-0 lead on the Joliet Slammers when rain interrupted play Thursday night at Standard Bank Stadium. The game will be resumed in the fourth inning as part of a doubleheader on August 22. The ThunderBolts got off to a hot start, scoring four runs on six hits in the first inning. They opened the game with five straight singles with RBIs coming from Riley Krane and Larry Balkwill. Zack Jones came up with another RBI base hit with two outs in the inning. The score remained 4-0 into the fourth when Melvin Rodriguez hit a leadoff single for the Slammers. Immediately afterward, play was halted. The game will pick up with a runner at first and nobody out in the top of the fourth inning.
Here is what you need to know about the reschedule date and information if you had game tickets for this game: - This game will be resumed when the Slammers return to Standard Bank Stadium on Tuesday, August 22nd. Gametime is 6:05 pm and it will be nine innings. Game two will start about 30 minutes after game one and it will be seven innings long. It is a $2 Ticket Tuesday. - Fans holding tickets to Thursday's suspension can bring those into the box office and exchange them for any game during the rest of the 2017 season. You do not have to use your ticket for the reschedule date. Any date is good for exchange.
