CRESTWOOD, IL - Mike Gallic has been a dangerous hitter in significant innings against the Windy City ThunderBolts this series. After leading off game one with a solo homerun, Gallic launched a go-ahead grand slam in the top of the ninth inning to help give the Greys their second straight win over the Bolts’. In three different instances Andy Mee was one out away from putting away the game in favor of the ThunderBolts. With one on and two out Brock McAllister forced a walk, Justin McDavid followed with an infield single and Mike Gallic gave the Greys their first lead of the day with a grand slam. The ThunderBolts were able to strike first in the game as Ryan Soares led off the first inning with a single. Soares came around to score thanks to Louie Templeton’s RBI single. The Bolts had the bases loaded with only one out, but failed to score anymore as they ended the first frame leading 1-0. The Greys tied up the score in the second as McAllister singled home Mark Micowski, who led off the inning with a walk. Windy City was able to retake the lead in the 4th inning when Chad Cregar grounded out to bring home Templeton and put the Bolts up 2-1. Cregar continued to produce at the plate in the 7th as he led off the inning with a single and came around to score on Soares’ RBI single. The ThunderBolts were able to scratch across another run in the frame when Zach Aakhus struck out. With the drop third strike rule in order, the Greys’ first baseman Kenny Gilbert was not able to hold onto the throw from McDavid and Soares came around to score for a 4-1 Bolts’ lead.
