The Windy City ThunderBolts have agreed to terms with Pete Budkevics, a six foot two inch right hander from Deer Park, New York. This will not be Pete's first trip to Crestwood. Budkevics signed with the ThunderBolts during the afternoon on June 18, 2010. However, he would not pick up a baseball in a ThunderBolts uniform as his contract was purchased by the Los Angeles Dodgers the same evening.
For the past two years, Budkevics split time with the Dodgers Rookie League Ogden Raptors and their A-ball affiliate Great Lakes Loons. Last year with the Loons Budkevics went 4-4 with a 3.39 ERA and five saves in 45 appearances.
Previously, Budkevics spent his college years at C.W. Post (AKA Long Island University). In 2009, his senior season, he led the team with eight wins while allowing a opponents batting average of only .203. He posted an 8-2 record in 2009 with an ERA of 2.97. He is also the career strikeout leader at C.W. Post where he amassed 297 of them during his college years and won a total of 20 games with the Pioneers.
