The Windy City ThunderBolts and the Frontier League are proud to announce their 2013 season schedule!  This will be the 21st season of Frontier League baseball and the ThunderBolts 15th in the league!  The 2013 schedule will go down as the craziest ThunderBolts' schedule ever.  The 51-game 2013 slate will feature the following:

- Starting the season will a record 10-game road trip that will span four cities and just under 1,200 miles

- The first time that the ThunderBolts will play on Memorial Day since the 2004 season

- A record 15-game homestand in June which is part of a string of playing 24 of 30 games at home leading into the all-star break

- 12 of the final 15 games of the season will be on the road

The only change to the Frontier League line-up from 2012 will be the exit of the Road Warriors.  Replacing them will be another full-time travel team called the Frontier League Greys.  This will give the ThunderBolts an extra three home games for 2013.  Division alignment and the playoff format will stay the same with the two division champions and the next two teams with the best records getting into the postseason.

Windy City opens the season on Thursday, May 16th with a special one-game series on the road in Schaumburg to take on the Boomers.  The Bolts will then travel to Marion, Illinois for a traditional three-game series vs. the Southern Illinois Miners to continue their record road trip.  The ThunderBolts will finally have their home opener on the Memorial Day holiday, Monday, May 27th at 6:05 pm vs. the Frontier League Greys.  The holiday Opening Night will feature a special post-game fireworks show!

The beginning and end of the 2013 season will be the most challenging for the Bolts.  The schedule features a heavy home schedule in June & July, but a very light home May, August, and September.  Local rival fans of Joliet, Rockford, & Schaumburg might be disappointed to see that all three teams make only one trip to Crestwood.

Game times for 2013 have not changed with the exceptions of our annual day games and special weekday fireworks nights.  Normal game times are 7:05 pm for Monday – Friday games, 6:05 pm for Saturday games, and 5:05 pm for Sundays.  Our two School Days and three Big Splash Days will all be a 10:35 am start.  Finally in addition to our Memorial Day home opener we expect to announce one or two additional 6:05 pm special game times to accommodate a special weekday fireworks show.

Windy City will bring back almost all of last year’s weekly promotions.  Wednesday home games will feature $1 Soda & Hot Dogs all game long again.  Thursdays and Fridays will again feature $1.25 draft and $2.25 bottled domestic beer.  Also not changing in 2013 following every Saturday home game will be a remarkable fireworks show.   Finally, Sundays will be Standard Bank Family Night and fans can purchase 4 tickets, 4 hot dogs, and 4 sodas for only $40.  Family Day Sunday’s will also have a pre-game autograph session and post-game catch on the field.  The only new weekly promotion for 2013 will be “Kids Eat Free” on all Monday and Tuesday night home games.  All tickets purchased for kids 12 and under at the box office window on the day of the game will come with a voucher for a free hot dog and soda!  Special promotions including theme nights and giveaways will be announced at a later date.  We look forward to seeing you at the ballpark in 2013!

The Windy City ThunderBolts open their 15th Frontier League season on Monday, Memorial Day, May 27th vs. the Frontier League Greys featuring a post-game fireworks show!  Season tickets, flex plans and group outing opportunities are available now!  Call 708-489-BALL or check out wcthunderbolts.com for more information!
