“Woof! Woof!”
That’s the sound fans have been accustomed to hearing throughout Standard Bank Stadium when Zach Aakhus contributes a big play for the ThunderBolts. Now be prepared to hear the roar of “Mmmmm!” during the game as the Windy City ThunderBolts are pleased to announce the release of the “AakDawg.”
This limited time special to the menu commemorates Aakhus’ third straight trip to the Frontier League All-Star Game. Because of his jumbo performances off the field and his spicy appetite off, we have joined a jumbo hot dog with jalapenos and new fan favorite fried banana pepper rings. The patron also has the choice of adding nacho cheese to this already loaded bun. The AakDawg is available at Standard Bank Stadium’s Concession Stand A for a mere $4.00.
This premier hot dog should not be confused with the tribute dog for Director of Food and Beverage Adam Schwarzentraub’s appropriately named “Awkward Dog.’ The combination of a hot dog with mayonnaise presented on a hamburger bun was not appealing to fans and was yanked before its debut.
The release of the brand new AakDawg is also in conjunction with Pet Night at the park tonight during the second game of the Southern Illinois series. Fans are invited to enjoy the AakDawg in the presence of their own dog.
The AakDawg will be available this weekend as the ThunderBolts prepare to send Zach Aakhus to Avon, OH with fellow all-stars Mike Torres, Devin Shepherd, Chris Wade, Greg Johnson, Brandon Anderson and Dustin Williams. The All-Star Game will be played Wednesday, July 13 at All Pro Freight Stadium.
