The Windy City ThunderBolts have added two more players to the roster with the signings of Matt Costello and Matt Litzinger. Matt Costello is a left-handed reliever and attended Valdosta State University in Georgia. After his career was over at the NCAA Division II University, he was drafted in the 35th round by the Milwaukee Brewers. In two seasons Costello reached Brevard Count which is the High-A Affiliate of the Brewers. Over his time spent with the Brewers organization he appeared in 47 games and pitched 88 innings. He had a stellar ERA of 2.97 and struck out 81 while only walking 26.
Matt Litzinger is a former outfielder who converted to a right-handed pitcher in 2010. He played at the University of Pittsburgh and in his senior year for the Panthers, Litzinger batted .293 with 3 home runs, 14 RBI, and 10 stolen bases. Last year, he pitched for the St. George Roadrunners of the Golden Baseball League. In 8 games he had a 5.79 ERA and picked up 1 save in 9 innings of work.
