The most recent addition to the ThunderBolts roster is 1st Baseman, Matt Huggins. Huggins played his college career with Midland University in Fremont, NE. In four years he carried an average of .362 and he is the career leader in hits and doubles with 268 and 50 respectively. After his successful career at the NAIA program he began his professional career in 2010 with the St. George RoadRunners. In 20 Games for the Golden League ballclub, Huggins batted .278 with 3 doubles and 3 triples. He also scored 9 runs and 9 RBI.
The Windy City ThunderBolts are a member of the twelve-team Frontier League, the oldest professional independent baseball league in the nation.
