The Windy City ThunderBolts have added another bat to the lineup with Garrett Regan. Regan is out of Calgary and played in the World University Championship for the Canadian National Team in 2010. Regan is a 6’4”, 210 pound left-hander and played for Oklahoma City University from 2008-2010.
In 2008, Regan hit .418 with 9 home runs, 45 RBI, and 12 stolen bases for the OCU Stars. Those statistics earned Regan honorable-mention All-American honors. Regan spent 2009 on the sidelines recovering from an injury. Garrett recovered nicely in 2010 and had another productive season. He batted .362 with 9 homers and 54 RBI. Regan helped lead the Stars to the Sooner Athletic Conference title in 2010.
After his time in Oklahoma City, Regan headed to Japan to play for the Canadian National Team in the World University Championship. Canada took home 5th place in the 9 day tournament. Regan’s play was highlighted by a game against China where he hit a home run, 2 doubles, and drove in 5 runs. Regan will bring his experience from the Canadian National Team to the ThunderBolts as they take on the quest to win back the Frontier League crown. ThunderBolts Field Manager, Mike Kashirsky is looking forward to seeing Regan put up big numbers in the ThunderBolts line-up. Kashirsky said, "Garrett should do well for us in the middle of the line-up."
