2010 Frontier League Schedule Released

The Frontier League released the 2010 season schedule.  The ThunderBolts will move divisions and be placed in the Frontier League's East Division. The ThunderBolts are sure to develop and renew some rivalries in 2010 as they join Kalamazoo, Lake Erie, newly renamed Oakland County Cruisers, Traverse City, and Washington.

The Bolts will look to reclaim the Frontier League Championship when they open the season at Standard Bank Stadium for the second straight season. Opening Night 2010 will be on Thursday, May 20th against the division champion Kalamazoo Kings. Opening Night will be just one of many marquee games for new manager Mike Kashirsky’s Bolts this summer!

The expansion Normal CornBelters will visit Standard Bank Stadium for a three-game series on June 8, 9, & 10. The Oakland County Cruisers, formally the Midwest Sliders of Ypsilanti, will play the first of their six games in Crestwood against the Bolts on June 17th. A rematch of the 2009 FL Division Series will take place in Crestwood on June 29th against the River City Rascals. The defending champion Lake Erie Crushers will make their first of two stops in Crestwood on July 25, 26, & 27. Our annual day games like School Day and Big Splash Day will announced in full shortly.

Some things will not change in 2010. The ThunderBolts will still feature $1.00 hot dogs, soda, popcorn, and sno-cones at every game during the 2010 season. Windy City will offer $1.00 domestic draft beer at every Thursday and Friday game sponsored by Bud Light and Budweiser. Finally, a spectacular fireworks show follows every Saturday night home game!

The Frontier League schedule makers gave the Bolts a challenge to end the year as 15 of the final 21 games are on the road. Highlighting the road schedule is Tuesday, June 1st, when the Bolts and CornBelters help open the brand new Corn Crib in Normal in the ballparks first Frontier League game. This will be the second year in a row Windy City was chosen to open a brand new ballpark. The Bolts were the visitor in the first game at Lake Erie’s All Pro Freight Stadium against the Crushers in 2009. The 2010 Frontier League All Star game stops for the first time in Marion, Illinois. The Southern Illinois Miners will host the mid-summer classic on Wednesday, July 14th at Rent One Park.
