6 Game Homestand this Tuesday thru Sunday08/24/2009 3:00 PM
 The Windy City ThunderBolts, 2007 and 2008 Frontier League Champions, open their final homestand of the 2009 regular season on Tuesday evening. The ThunderBolts are battling for their third consecutive division crown and a return to the Frontier League playoffs. Windy City enters the homestand in first place in the West division with just 12 regular season games remaining.
As with the entire 2009 season, all home games feature the ThunderBolts Value Menu, with hot dogs, fountain soft drinks, popcorn, and sno kones available for just $1 each!
The Gateway Grizzlies visit Standard Bank Stadium for a three-game series starting on Tuesday night, with a 7:05 pm contest.
Wednesday’s game is Back to School Night, with students who participated in the ThunderBolts’ Academic Achievement and Summer Reading Programs invited to the contest.
Thursday night is another Thirsty Thursday, with draft beer available for just $1 throughout the game. It will also be the finals for the season-long ThunderBolt Idol contest, presented by Music Industry Workshop. Come out as Jamie and Marissa battle for top honors.
Friday opens a series with the Evansville Otters and is another $1 beer night, along with Latino Family Night presented by Homewood Travel & Funjet Vacations. Homewood Travel & Funjet Vacations will be giving away an all-inclusive vacation, plus airfare for two prople, for seven (7) nights at a Bahia Principie resort (airfare taxes and passports are the responsibility of the winner). The first 1,000 fans will receive a free chip clip compliments of Homewood Travel, and fans will be entertained by mariachi band Mariachi Internacional Maya Imperial. Saturday night features the ‘Bolts final fireworks extravaganza of the 2009 season – come out and experience the “Best Bang for $9 Bucks!”
The 2009 regular season concludes on Sunday with the rescheduled MDA Jersey off the Back Night. ThunderBolt players and coaches will be wearing special replica jerseys patterned after the 1982 World Champion St. Louis Cardinals, with the jerseys being auctioned off on the field immediately following the game. Sunday is also Fan Appreciation Night, as prizes will be given to fans throughout the game for helping the ThunderBolts’ set a franchise attendance record and hopefully cheering the team back into the playoffs. In addition, it’s a Standard Bank Sunday, with Standard Bank customers receiving buy-one-get-one free tickets by presenting the coupon available at area Standard Bank branches.
Tuesday-Saturday games this homestand will begin at 7:05 pm, with Sunday’s contest beginning at 6:05 pm. Information on potential 2009 playoff dates will be announced as soon as possible.
