The Washington Nationals Triple A affiliate the Syracuse Chiefs have promoted former ThunderBolts broadcaster (2005), Jason Benetti to its top broadcast position.
Benetti is a Homewood native and was known as "The Voice" around these parts for the 2005 season. Fans grew to love him for his in-depth knowledge of the game as well as his great sense of humor.
Benetti is an SU graduate and since leaving Windy City has worked with the Houston Astros single-A affiliate in Salem, VA. He also serves as the play-by-play voice of High Point University (Division I) basketball and is a pre-game studio host for ISP Sports, working with Florida State over the last two years and providing coverage of the Big East Basketball Tournament.
The ThunderBolts organization wish Jason great success in his new role and hopefully an outstanding broadcast career in the future. Congratulations Jason Benetti!
