Crestwood, IL – The Windy City ThunderBolts have announced that staff ace Toro Trevino has re-signed with the team for the 2007 season.
Trevino joined the ThunderBolts last June and made an immediate impact in the starting rotation. He struck out 12 batters and allowed just two earned runs over his first two starts.
On the season, Trevino was 7-3 with a 3.86 ERA in 15 starts. Using a variety of pitches and arm angles, Trevino finished with 68 strikeouts and 31 walks while opponents hit only .236 against him.
The Corpus Christi, TX native went 5-0 during a one month stretch that included four outings in which he gave up two runs or less. Trevino also tossed a complete game shutout on August 29 against Florence.
The ThunderBolts have released the team’s 2007 schedule and will host the Rockford RiverHawks for Opening Night on May 23, 2007. The complete schedule can be found at www.WCThunderBolts.com.
