Crestwood, IL – The Windy City ThunderBolts continued to work on their roster heading into the 2009 season with the signing of Lansing, IL native Shane Zegarac to a contract.
The left-handed pitcher recently completed his senior season at St. Joseph’s College of Indiana where he went 5-4 with a 4.09 ERA in 11 starts for the Pumas. Zegarac led St. Joseph’s and was fifth in the GLVC in strikeouts with 72 in just 61.2 innings. A durable pitcher, Zegarac tossed three complete games with two shutouts.
A teammate of fellow ThunderBolt Nick Damas at TF South High School, Zegarac went 1-2 with 25 strikeouts in 25.2 innings for St. Joseph’s in 2007 after transferring from South Suburban College. For his career, the 6’3” lefty whiffed 97 batters in 87.1 innings for the Pumas.
