September 26, 2006 - Crestwood, IL - Officials from the Windy City ThunderBolts announced that Catcher Charlie Lisk's contract was sold to the San Diego Padres organization.
The Padres, following the major league clubs invite-only tryout held at Hawkinson Ford Field, purchased Lisks contract. The Fort Mill (SC) native will begin his second stint in affiliated baseball. Charlie was originally selected by the White Sox in the June 2001 amateur draft and spent 5 seasons in the Sox organization.
Lisk joined the ThunderBolts during the 2006 season after beginning the year with the Edmonton CrackerCats of the Northern League. In 26 games with the ThunderBolts Lisk batted .316 and had an on base percentage of .398. Charlie Lisk is the 17th Frontier League player to be signed by a Major League organization this season.
