Crestwood, IL The Windy City ThunderBolts raised $4,631.00 for the MDA with the teams Jerseys Off Their Backs promotion on Sunday, August 20. Outfielder Kevin Houses #10 was auctioned for $310.00, the highest amount for an individual jersey.
In Sundays game, the ThunderBolts took the field in jerseys modeled after the uniforms of the 1978 San Diego Padres. After the teams thrilling extra inning victory over the Evansville Otters, the game-worn jerseys were auctioned off to fans.
There is still a chance to win two more of the throwback jerseys. Boomer the Mascots #00 jersey and a jersey signed by the 2006 ThunderBolts will be raffled off after the game on Tuesday, August 29. Tickets for the jersey raffle can be purchased at the ThunderStore during the remaining ThunderBolts home games from Friday, August 25 through Tuesday, August 29. Raffle tickets are 1 for $1.00 or 6 for $5.00. Tickets that were purchased at the Sunday, August 20 game are eligible to win.
The winners will be announced immediately after the conclusion of Tuesdays game. Ticket sales will stop in the seventh inning of that game. The winner does not need to be present to win.
