CRESTWOOD -- The Windy City ThunderBolts and the Chillicothe Paints were deadlocked at 2-2 in the third inning when severe thunderstorms struck Standard Bank Stadium and forced the game to be suspended on Thursday night.
Both teams scored in the first inning with Windy City getting their runs on a leadoff homer by Scott Billak and an RBI-double from Phil Hawke to tie the game. The ThunderBolts were threatening after Wes Long reached with a lead off double in the bottom of the third with Phil Hawke batting. That is when the tarp was called to cover the infield.
The contest will be continued in Chillicothe on August 18th since this is the only series the Paints visit the 'Bolts in 2008.
Fans with tickets to tonight's game can exchange them for tickets for a future ThunderBolts game of their choice in the 2008 season.
Windy City will now get ready for a three-game road trip in Florence to battle the Freedom before the All-Star Break. The match-up wil feature RHP Mike Eisenberg (1-4, 4.29) against RHP Andy Clark (3-0, 2.41) on Friday night in Kentucky.
