TROY, Ill. -- Five members of the defending Frontier League champion Windy City ThunderBolts were voted to the Frontier League All-Star Team, Commissioner Bill Lee announced today.
Centerfielder Mike Coles, first baseman Phil Hawke, second baseman Gilberto Mejia, starting pitcher Stephen Flake and reliever Jason Lowey were all honored as West Division All-Stars.
Coles, one of three unanimous All-Stars, and Hawke were each named to the starting lineup. It is the second consecutive All-Star selection for each player.
The 2008 Frontier League All-Star Game will take place on Wednesday, July 16, at Wuerfel Park in Traverse City, Michigan.
The field managers leading their divisions following the games of July 6 will manage the All-Star teams and add the final three players, plus any injury replacements, to each roster.
With a record of 21-20, Windy City is currently a half-game out of first place in the West Division. The ThunderBolts finish off a three-game series at Rockford on Friday night before returning home for a six-game homestand beginning Saturday.
