LOVES PARK -- The Windy City ThunderBolts (21-20) moved above .500 with a 10-4 win over the Rockford RiverHawks at Road Ranger Stadium on Wednesday afternoon.
The ThunderBolts took the lead for good in the eighth inning after Doug Coe hit his second home run of the season to right-center field, a two-run shot to make it 4-2 Windy City. The ThunderBolts would tack on another run in the frame to make it 5-2. The ThunderBolts would blow the game wide up with a five-run ninth inning, highlighted by a two-run double by Amos Ramon.
The 'Bolts jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the second courtesy of an RBI-single in the second before Bryan Cook tied the game with his first professional home run for Rockford. Mike Coles also singled and drove in a run to extend his hitting streak to a season-high thirteen games.
Dan Remenowsky (1-0) was terrific in his first professional start giving up just two runs in 7.0 innings of work for his first win. Anthony Rebyanski worked a scoreless eighth before Jason Lowey finished the game in the ninth. Lowey gave up two runs but got Rockford to hit into a game-ending double paly with the bases loaded to end the contest.
James Cramphin (2-2) took the loss for the RiverHawks giving up the go-ahad runs in the eighth inning.
The ThunderBolts and RiverHawks will conclude their three-game set tomorrow night as the rubber-match of the series is set to start at 7:05. It will be RHP Ross Stout (3-3, 3.86) for Windy City against RHP Jim Paduch (3-4, 4.24) for Rockford.
