LOVES PARK -- The Windy City ThunderBolts (20-20) couldn't hold a 5-3 lead going into the ninth inning as the Rockford RiverHawks (20-20) came back to beat the 'Bolts 6-5 in 12 innings. History was made in the top of the first inning when Rockford starter Garret Bauer struck out five batters in the inning. It was the first time it had ever happened in Frontier League history and just the fourth time in minor league baseball. However, Wes Long did hit a two-run homer in the first to give Windy City a 2-0 lead. The biggest home run of the night came in the bottom of the ninth when Rockford slugger Robert Sabates hit a two-run homer to right field to tie the game at 5-5 off of closer Matt Petty. It was Petty's third blown save of the season and the second night in a row Sabates hit a home run in the ninth to tie the game for the 'Hawks. Jason James would later come through in the 12th inning with a bases-loaded single off Desmond Jones (2-2) for his second game-winning hit in a row in the 12th inning. Matt Enderle pitched a perfect top of the 12th to pick up the win for Rockford. The 'Bolts will get set for an afternoon affair with the RiverHawks on Wednesday at Road Ranger Stadium with first pitch at 12:05. It will be RHP Dan Remenowsky (0-0, -) making his first professional start for Windy City against RHP Chris Schutt (2-5, 5.44) for Rockford.
