The 2007 Frontier League Champion Windy City ThunderBolts professional baseball team have announced the signing of outfielder Adam Warren to a contact for the 2008 season.
Adam Warren will be making his professional debut with Windy City this summer. Warren comes out of Middle Tennessee State University, where he was a career .317 hitter with 12 home runs, 109 RBI, and 33 stolen bases. For the Blue Raiders in 2007, Warren ranked second on the squad in hits (74), home runs (6, tied), RBI (45, tied), and stolen bases (16) to go along with a .326 batting average.
“Adam came highly recommended and consistently put up solid numbers against top competition in the Sun Belt Conference,” commented ThunderBolts’ field manager Brian Nelson. “He is a solid all-around player who will battle for a spot on the Opening Day roster.”
In other roster moves, the ThunderBolts placed RHP Steven Guerra on the retired list while activating LHP Ron Madej. Guerra spent the entire 2007 season on the injured list after undergoing Tommy John surgery during spring training.
Ron Madej appeared in four games for the ThunderBolts last season, along with seeing action for the Schaumburg Flyers and Kane County Cougars. In his three-year professional career, Madej has combined for a 2-9 record and 4.43 ERA with 102 strikeouts in 113.2 innings. He was a 26th round draft pick by the Oakland Athletics out of Bellevue University in 2005.
