The Windy City ThunderBolts are ready to make 2021 "The Return of Fun!" with the release of our summer's Frontier League schedule.  Opening Night will be Thursday, May 27th as your ThunderBolts host the Joliet Slammers at Ozinga Field in the first of a full 96-game slate.  The late start to the season will mean an unusually late finish as our summer will stretch into mid-September.

For 2021 the now 16-team league will be split into two conferences to minimize travel and to enhance regional rivalries.  Each conference will have two (four team) divisions each.  The ThunderBolts will be in the Midwest Conference's Central Division with the Joliet Slammers, Lake Erie Crushers, and Schaumburg Boomers.  The other division in our Midwest Conference will be the West featuring Evansville, Florence, Gateway, and Southern Illinois.

The two new teams in the league for 2021, the Ottawa Titans (Ontario, Canada) and Tri-City ValleyCats (Troy, New York), will both be placed in the Can-Am Conference.  ThunderBolt fans will have to wait a year before we see more teams from the East coast as 93 of our 96 games are against teams from the Midwest Conference.  The ThunderBolts will host Canada's Trois-Rivieres Aigles at Ozinga Field August 13-15 in our only matchup against a Can-Am Conference club.

Due to a compressed schedule and logistical hurdles involved in making this year's schedule, the league will not have an All-Star Game in 2021.  The postseason will begin on Tuesday, September 14th with the four division winners qualifying.

General game times will not change as Monday - Friday will start at 7:05 pm, Saturday at 6:05 pm, and Sundays at 2:05 pm.  Two abnormal dates on our calendar are the Wednesday, June 16th game starting early at 6:05 pm and a scheduled doubleheader vs. Joliet on Sunday, August 29th.  Also our annual weekday morning slate will be very limited in 2021.  There will be no School Days on the schedule this spring, but current plans are for two Splash Days in July.

All group tickets such as suites, picnics, and our Glenmark #WinCity Party Patio are on-sale now.  With COVID still part of our daily life, many aspects of our 2021 season will be announced later than usual.  Allowable stadium capacity including in our group areas, stadium seating arrangements, promotion schedule, COVID guest rules and other elements will be announced as this year progresses.  Single-game tickets will go on-sale Friday, May 7th at 10 am.  Patience and flexibility will be needed from our great fans as we look to make this an unforgettable summer for all of Chicago Southland!

Below are printable versions of our 2021 schedule and information on our group options and fundraisers!  Think spring and let's have a great 2021..."The Return of Fun!"
