The 2007 Frontier League Champion Windy City ThunderBolts professional baseball team has announced the acquisition of third baseman Kevin Noles in a trade. Noles was received from the Anderson Joes of the South Coast League in exchange for a player to be named later.
Noles made his professional debut with Anderson last season, finishing second in the South Coast League in hits (103) and fifth in batting average (.325). He had 16 doubles, two triples, 37 RBI, and 11 stolen bases for the Joes.
Noles came to Anderson after graduation from the University of Texas-Tyler, where he ranks second all-time in career hits. In three seasons with the Patriots, Noles combined for a .334 batting average with 153 hits, 28 doubles, ten triples, 15 home runs, 118 RBI, and 28 stolen bases in 113 games. Noles best season came in 2005, when he was named All-American Southwest Conference by hitting .400 with 11 doubles, six triples, three home runs, and 44 RBI in leading the Patriots to the East Division Championship in only their second season of play.
Kevin comes to us after a tremendous professional debut in 2007, commented ThunderBolts field manager Brian Nelson. I expect him to build on this past season and be a major force in our lineup.
