Crestwood, IL - The Windy City ThunderBolts will be holding an open tryout on Saturday, May 6 at Hawkinson Ford Field. Baseball players with aspirations of playing professional baseball are invited to attend this one-day tryout camp. Players will be asked to perform various baseball related drills in an effort to determine their skill levels.
All participants will be evaluated by former big leaguer Brent Bowers, the ThunderBolts manager. Registration is $25 and pre-registration is strongly recommended. Players can pre-register online at www.WCThunderBolts.com or call the ThunderBolts at 708-489-2255 for more information.
Check-in on May 6 is at 8:00 AM and the tryout will begin at 9:00 AM. Participants should wear general baseball attire and must provide their own wooden bats, gloves, and catching equipment. Hawkinson Ford Field is located at 14011 S. Kenton in Crestwood, IL 60445, which is approximately 10 miles from Midway Airport.
Hawkinson Ford Field will also be the site of the 2006 Frontier League Tryouts. Representatives from all ten teams will be on hand to evaluate talent. There will be an open tryout on Sunday, May 7. Select players will be invited back for additional evaluation on Monday, May 8.
Registration for the Frontier League tryout is $50 and pre-registration is strongly encouraged. Players can pre-register online at www.WCThunderBolts.com. Check-in will begin at 8:00 AM on May 7.
