Crestwood, IL The Windy City ThunderBolts will be having their 2nd annual MDA Jerseys Off Their Backs Day on Sunday, August 26, courtesy of National City.
The ThunderBolts host the Kalamazoo Kings on August 26 with a first pitch set for 3:05pm. The ThunderBolts will take the field in jerseys that are modeled after the uniforms of the 1983 Chicago White Sox. The Windy City version will be white with blue and black trim on the sleeves and neck. The front of the jersey will have BOLTS in block lettering. The players number on the back will be black.
Following the game, there will be a live auction of all the jerseys. Fans will have the chance to bid on all the game worn jerseys of the players and coaches. This season, Boomers game worn jersey will also be auctioned off. Additionally, two team-autographed jerseys will be raffled off during Sundays game. After a jersey is purchased, there will be an opportunity to have the player autograph it. All of the proceeds from the auction will be donated to the MDA.
"We are very excited to be partnering with the Windy City ThunderBolts for the
second annual Jerseys Off Their Backs event. The response from the fans was
tremendous last year and we're expecting an even bigger turn-out this year,"
said MDA Program Coordinator Lauren Cerkoske.
The MDA is a voluntary health agency that fights neuromuscular disease through research, medical and community services, and professional and public health education.
