ThunderBolts Thank You Series: Moraine Valley Community College

The Windy City ThunderBolts could not survive without its corporate sponsors.  We would like to thank our sponsors from the 2013 season in a very special way.  Every week we are going to feature a particular sponsor in our "ThunderBolts Thank You Series."

This week we look at Moraine Valley Community College…

About Moraine Valley Community College:  Moraine Valley Community College in Palos Hills is the second largest community college in Illinois.  The college also has satellite campuses in Blue Island and Tinley Park.   Moraine Valley was established in 1967 and is dedicated to ensuring our students gain the knowledge and skills to meet the demands of a changing world.  Night and weekend classes, distance learning, and on-campus day care are all made available to students. Career counseling and services are also available to help students secure jobs after they leave college. To help alleviate the financial burdens that students bear, the college offers employment to its students. Additionally, the college offers athletic scholarships to help some of its students obtain an education more easily.

Moraine Valley is also a Member of the prestigious League for Innovation in the Community College and one of twelve national Vanguard Colleges.  The college specializes in transfer programs, career programs, developmental education-GED, adult basic education, English as a second language, continuing education & leisure-learning opportunities, student support services, career search assistance, online, evening, weekend, and short-term classes, and business and industry partnerships.

Moraine Valley Community College and the ThunderBolts:  What started as a small “Chamber Neighbor” partnership in 2010 has blossomed into the current sponsorship of our incentive programs and more.

Moraine Valley Community College’s relationship with the ThunderBolts started in 2010 as they took advantage of our “Chamber Neighbor” special; a small print ad, announcements, and tickets were a part of that special. In 2011, Moraine started their sponsorship of our School & Library Incentive Program.  Every year thousands of children receive tickets to ThunderBolts’ home games when they achieve a goal established by their respective school & library.  The children receive the tickets to a game, are invited onto the field to participate in a pregame parade, announce their name to the crowd for their achievement, and receive an award ribbon & gift from Moraine Valley.  Also included in the partnership is print advertising, announcements, and tickets.

The ThunderBolts would like to thank Moraine Valley Community College for their support of the SouthSide's minor league baseball team!
