Crestwood, IL --The Windy City ThunderBolts announce the signing of Oklahoma City University Stars pitcher Mike Mlotkowski. The 6-6, 260 lb. right-hander was one of four pitchers chosen by the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) to be on the 2005 NAIA All-American First Team.
The Fairfax Station, Virginia native was also the 2005 NAIA World Series MVP and a member of the NAIA World Series All-Tournament team. In the NAIA championship game Mlotkowski allowed just four hits in eight innings to lead Oklahoma City to an 8-1 victory over Embry-Riddle University.
On the season, Mlotkowski posted a 14-1 record with a 2.68 ERA, four complete games, one shutout and two combined shutouts. The Stars ace recorded 133 strikeouts in 110 2/3 innings pitched. Mlotkowski was third in the country with 10.86 strikeouts per nine innings and was tied for most wins on the season with 14 victories. During his collegiate career, Mlotkowski pitched three no-hitters, including one perfect game.
