Biography:

Jose Curpa begins his first year with the ThunderBolts and seventh as a professional in 2025. He signed as a free agent on December 11, 2025. Jose is on his second Partner League team after hitting .212 over 29 games for the 2023 Cleburne Railroaders.

He had previously spent six years in the Arizona Diamondbacks system after signing as an undrafted free agent in 2017. Including two years in the Dominican Summer League, Curpa played 268 games for Arizona, peaking at Double A Amarillo. He hit .256 overall with 93 RBIs and 101 stolen bases. In his best season, he hit .300 with a .389 on-base percentage over 59 games in Rookie ball in 2019. Prior to his time with the Diamondbacks, Jose attended Colegio Juan Vicente Gonzalez in Anzoátegui, Venezuela.
