Biography:

2024 is Ruddy Gomez's first season with the ThunderBolts and first as a professional. He signed with the Bolts on June 7, 2024. He signed with the San Diego Padres as an undrafted free agent in 2023 but did not appear in a game in the Padres' system. He pitched in five games in the MLB Draft League in 2023, allowing 12 earned runs in 18.2 innings with 30 strikeouts.

Ruddy attended the University of Central Florida, where he went 6-3 as a senior and 10-3 overall in two years with a 4.83 ERA. He also played for one year at Hillsborough Community College, appearing in 14 games (11 starts). He struck out 77 batters in 61.1 innings there, finsihing 3-5 with a 3.67 ERA. His college career began at St. Leo University, where he pitched for two years. He had a combined 2-4 record with the Lions in 14 games (ten starts) and a 5.31 ERA. Ruddy attended Mater Academy Charter High School in Hialeah Gardens, Florida.
