Biography:
Jaylen Hubbard is in his first year with the ThunderBolts and fifth as a professional in 2024. He was acquired in exchange for a player to be named later from the Chicago Dogs of the American Association on May 7, 2024. Jaylen spent the previous two seasons with Grand Junction of the Pioneer League, hitting a combined .323 over 154 games. In 2023, he led the league with 117 RBIs and was named a Postseason All-Star at second base. Originally a 27th round draft choice of the Washington Nationals in 2019, he appeared in 24 games for their Rookie level affiliate.
Hubbard, who is the son of former major leaguer Trenidad Hubbard, played for five years at Texas State University and was a .311 hitter over 212 total games with a .394 on-base percentage. He was named Second Team All-Big Sun as a sophomore when he hit .296, drove in 43 runs and stole 12 bases. He earned the same honor as a senior in 2019, hitting .323 with a .986 OPS, eight homers and 17 doubles. He attended Dulles High School in Sugar Land, Texas. |
