Biography:
Jake Welch begins his first season with the ThunderBolts and third as a professional in 2018. He signed on October 16, 2017. He spent two years in the United Shore League with the Birmingham Bloomfield Beavers, going 6-4 with a 2.90 ERA and three saves overall. In 2017, he finished fourth in the league in wins (5) and ERA (2.82) and fifth in strikeouts (76). He attended Notre Dame College in South Euclid, Ohio and went 14-8 with a 3.43 ERA over two years there. He was named First Team All-Mountain East Conference as a junior after going 7-3 with a 2.79 ERA. Welch also spent two years at Jefferson Community College and was named All-Conference, posting a 7-2 record with a 4.15 ERA. He attended Spencerport High School in Spencerport, New York. |
