Alex Jones will serve as Hitting Coach for the ThunderBolts. The 2024 season will be Jones' first with the ThunderBolts and first coaching at a professional level. He spent the 2023 season as Hitting Coach of the Princeton WhistlePigs (Appalachian League).
Jones' first coaching stint was as Assistant Hitting Coach at NCAA-D2 Florida Southern College (2019-20) and he is currently the Hitting Coach of NJCAA Santa Fe College in Gainesville, Florida. He was with the Philadephia Phillies during the summer of 2022 as an assistant in their Florida Complex League before moving on to Princeton for the 2023 summer.
Jones, out of Pell City, Alabama, was born on October 7, 1994. He played collegiately for three seasons at NCAA-D3 University of Montevallo (2014-16) and the aforementioned Florida Southern College in 2017. He is the son of former All-Star reliever Todd Jones, who accrued 319 saves duirng his 16-year Major League career.
