ThunderBolts Announce First Promo Schedule

Crestwood, IL - As Opening Day approaches, the Windy City ThunderBolts announce the first edition of their 2006 promotional schedule. Fireworks, giveaways, and theme nights are all part of the mix for the team's third year of Frontier League baseball.

The season gets underway with “Delta Sonic Presents ThunderBolts Opening Series” from May 24-26. Delta Sonic Car Wash magnet schedules will be given out to the first 2,000 fans at all three games against the Rockford RiverHawks. Opening Day is School Day with a special 11:35 AM first pitch and Delta Sonic logo baseballs will also be handed out. Opening Series concludes with a postgame fireworks display on Friday.

Miller Lite Thirsty Thursdays are back with ten Thursday home games on the schedule. Fountain soda and draft beer are only $1.00 on Thursdays. Fireworks will light up the Friday night skies above Hawkinson Ford Field nine times this summer. In addition to the Fireworks Fridays, a tenth fireworks display is set for Tuesday, July 4.

The ThunderBolts’ six Sunday home games are Family Days presented by White Hen Pantry. Families of three or more will receive $2.00 off the regular price of tickets at the box office for Sunday games. An additional $2.00 can be saved by presenting a White Hen receipt at the box office.

St. Francis Hospital presents Senior Day/Grandparents Day @ The Hawk on Wednesday, June 14. The first 1,000 fans through the gates for the 11:35 AM contest will receive St. Francis Hospital logo baseballs. The following week, A.J. Smith Federal Savings Bank presents Seat Cushion Night on Tuesday, June 20.

First Suburban National Bank is providing fans with two giveaways. The first is T-Shirt Day on Sunday, June 25. The final home series of the season starts with First Suburban National Bank Frisbee Night on Sunday, August 27.

Dog Day sponsored by Petland of Tinley Park and Chicago Ridge is Sunday, July 9 at 1:05 PM. Dogs will be allowed in the stadium for the game and dog owners will be able to participate in a raffle for Petland merchandise.

New at Hawkinson Ford Field this year is Elvis Night featuring Jerry “Elvis” Vegas. The King makes his appearance on Thursday, August 10, and will sing God Bless America and Take Me Out To The Ballgame. He will also do a postgame performance and sign autographs on the concourse during the game.
